Are there any fabrics out there that will give the look of this silk Dupioni fabric, but cost less?
Your help would be very appreciated.

There are polyester "dupioni" or "shantung" fabrics out there -- I know I've seen them at Joann and Hancock fabrics in the past. To me, however, they're not terribly convincing -- they just don't hang right. You may also be able to find some heavier fabrics similar to dup in the drapery section of a fabric store... often with some rayon in the blend to help it hang better.
There are some rather inexpensive dups out there that can be made to drape more expensively by underlining with cotton flannel. e.g.:
